Get experience in cleaving, shaping with axe and with drawknife and begin to feel the attraction of these ancient working practices.
Students will make mallets and a charcoal-maker’s one-legged stool to introduce the concepts of mortise and tenon jointwork in a simple and easy-to-achieve sequence – the ideal introduction to these historic woodworking methods.
No previous woodwork experience needed, a reasonable level of fitness an advantage.
