School visits

School visits

Hands-on centre for schools with expert facilitator led, topic-based sessions designed to enrich and enhance children’s learning and thinking skills across the curriculum, using real artefacts and specimens. A spacious centre with room-sets, dressing up, hi-tech equipment, lunch rooms and coach parking.

We offer a range of two-hour workshops, tailored to your requirements and supported by free teachers' packs, pre-visit meetings and the use of indoor eating areas. Or use our resources and expertise to develop bespoke projects or provide learning hooks and exciting, meaningful outcomes for the children’s challenge-based work.

Four learning spaces

The Victorian House

An Upstairs/Downstairs room set where children can explore homes long ago and Victorian lives through role play and historical enquiry

History Handling Room

A flexible space where your group can create their own mini exhibitions, or we can arrange a bespoke workshop to support your topic.

Twentieth Century Room

A 1930-1950s, or wartime room set offering experiential learning for younger children, and a chance for older children to become museum curators.

Science Room

Using the skills of real scientists, children can investigate and present ideas on a range of natural science themes in an exciting setting.
