Throughout May and August, intimate ‘Tipple Tours’ will be taking place in Gosport. Organised by Gosport Cultural Consortium, attendees will enjoy local brews as guides bring to life the sailor-filled, beer-soaked, bustling, hustling, walled town of Gosport in the 18th and 19th century.
A friendly, professional local guide will direct and enlighten Tipple Tour guest as they visit historic alehouses and breweries. The walking tour will begin at The Four Ale Tap Room on Stoke Road and follow on to 33 Green Bottles, concluding at Fallen Acorn Brewery with guests hearing stories of rival brewers, drunken escapades and enterprising bumboat women.
The tours are held on Wednesdays and Saturdays between 3 May and 23 August and include three drinks (non-alcoholic choices available), one at each venue and will last about 2.5 hours. The ticket will cost £17.50 per person (18+ only), with only eight tickets available per tour.
